in fiber art. This light house rug hooking pattern stamped on quality burlap makes a great gift. Recommended for the beginner
or primitive rug hooker. Baccaro Light House is situated on Baccaro Point, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. Very
rough seas come a shore here and it is a magical spot. The drive down from Hwy 103 is very picturesque. Plan to see the
sunset over the waves. Since 1850, a sturdy light house has marked windblown Baccaro Point. The point is one of
the major headlands of the South Shore, so it's one of the best places in Nova Scotia to view birds normally seen only by
boat - including northern gannets, jaegers and sooty shearwaters. There are also panoramic views east to the Dalvages
Lighthouse and west to Nova Scotia's tallest light at Cape Sable Island. Take Highway 103 turn onto Route 309 south,
turn at the sign for "Light House Road" and drive 0.6km (0.4mi) along the gravel road to the light house. My husband
drove over an hour to take me here during a hurricane and the winds were so strong I was afraid to get out of the car.
He was not impressed but the sight of the waves pounding on the huge granite rocks was unforgetable! Baccaro is a speactular
place to visit all year around.
