Gilberts Cove Light House

This light house rug hooking pattern is printed on quality burlap and can be used as a rug hooked pictorial or a floor  rug. Recommended for the beginner and primitive rug hooker. The light house was 100 years old, in 2004. On the Evangeline Trail, you will find the Gilberts Cove Light House built in 1904,  which once guided sailors and fishermen in the upper reaches of St. Mary's Bay. Today, the light with its lantern mounted on the roof of the keeper's dwelling, is one of the last of its kind in Nova Scotia.  Tour the light house for a
taste of the light keepers' life, plus archival displays. Climb the tower to the lanterns for a sweeping view across Saint Mary's Bay to Digby Neck. One can also swim here at high tide. Picnic tables and food available. Wheelchair accessible. Beautiful spot for the children to run free.
